The International K2 North Ridge Expedition reached Camp 2

The International K2 North Ridge expedition reached 6400m. According to Maxut Zhumayev, the climbers, despite the deep snow, were able to climb further 300 meters of Chogori slope and settled up the second camp.

Members of the expedition – Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner (Austria) and Ralf Dujmovits(Germany) – will stay at Camp 2 to acclimatize overnight. Maxut Zhumayev(Kazakhstan), Vassily Pivtsov(Kazakhstan), Darek Zaluski(Poland) and Tommy Henrich(Argentina) went down to 6,100 meters to the intermediate camp. A good weather conditions will last couple days according to weather forecast. During this time, the climbers are planning to find the way to the third camp at 7,300-7,400 meters.
